Phoenix Public Library Launches New Library Card Designed by Local Artist
The new Phoenix Public Library card, designed by local artist Kiyomi King will be available free to all new customers. Current library cards may be exchanged for a new card free of charge until Feb. 28. Thereafter, a $2 replacement fee will be charged.
 
Lasting Light: 125 Years of Grand Canyon Photography
Phoenix Public Library will host the national debut of "Lasting Light: 125 Years of Grand Canyon Photography" Jan. 10 - March 29, 2009 at Burton Barr Central Library, 1221 North Central Ave. Admission is free.
 
Libraries Make a Difference in Our Community
Phoenix Public Library hosted its Second Annual Media Day on Nov. 19 celebrating how "Libraries make a difference in our community." The library debuted a promotional video that offered testimony from five individuals and families about how their public library has made a difference in their lives.

Fifty area residents become Arizona's newest U.S. citizens during a special naturalization ceremony hosted by library teen volunteers at Burton Barr Central Library on July 25.
